Their leader, a pretentious and self-righteous idiot seeks her out, inviting her into their pack of do-gooders. Their plan “ to save a particular part of the Amazon rainforest that is about to be deforested, meaning the native tribes that live in and around the area will most likely be uprooted and left homeless or worse killed.
Justine is immediately sold on this idea, wanting to help in any way possible, beat the abuse, mutilation and fear that millions of women face across the world. A completely understandable and worthy cause to fight for; however I want to make one observation “ The Amazon is the largest tropical area of the rainforest in the world. Home to many undiscovered animals/insects and provides habitat for tribes that are untouched by western or modern world ideals. Still living in a world of their own, governed by their own rules and beliefs. Simply flying one weekend to protest against a government scheme in a notoriously questionable country is idealistic and insane.
Eli Roth, has semi returned to his Hostel-esque depravity, but less ingeniously. This time he mixes brutal horror with a teen flick, the result not so great. I expected more graphic content and a storyline rather than pretty women and childish banter.
